Knierim 60 Decksalon Cruiser

You may sail to the most beautiful places in the world and you will always feel like home on board of this extraordinary blue water yacht. Shortly before the turn of the year 2012/2013, a contract was signed for another new build, a 60-foot cruiser with deck saloon. As an experienced sailor, it was important to the owner to be able to incorporate his own personal wishes for a yacht. The result was a modern cruising yacht as a GRP sandwich construction based on drawings by the Beiderbeck design office in Bremen.

The concept and equipment correspond to a typical blue water cruising yacht that can be comfortably sailed by a small crew. This is partly due to the choice of a cutter-rigged sloop with furling boom and partly due to the layout, as everything can be operated safely from the sheltered cockpit. The living space below deck is ideally divided with a large, bright deck saloon, a seaworthy galley, a spacious navigation corner and a small workshop. Three double cabins, one large one forward and two aft, offer comfortable accommodation for six people. The use of lots of wood creates a very homely ambience.

But the yacht is not only intended to offer comfort, good sailing characteristics are also important. This is underlined by the carbon fiber mast, which significantly reduces the top weight and thus contributes to a pleasant sailing experience. The deep keel also ensures improved sailing characteristics and more sail area. The yacht is equipped with a hydraulically operated lifting keel so that it can still be sailed into shallower waters.

The 60-foot deck saloon cruiser was built from sandwich material consisting of fiberglass laminate with a foam core. The molds for the hull and deck were milled with millimeter precision using the company's own 5-axis milling machines. The continuous further development of production based on experience from regatta yacht building guarantees high-precision implementation of the design specifications. The result is minimum weight and maximum load-bearing capacity.

The yacht was delivered to the owner in June 2014.
