Getting wet - FC53 #2 touches water for the first time

FC53 Fast Cruiser launchedWhen hull number 2 of the FC53 fast cruiser was launched for the first time on Saturday, March 25th, 2017 it was a cool morning at the Kiel Canal but the sun was shining bright as was the smile of Stanley Paris who was watching his future boat. „ I already fall in love with her“, he stated and it couldn’t be overlooked that he can hardly wait to have his 53‘ footer ready for sailing.

Once the boat was in water it was rigged and a few tests have been executed. The hard dodger which is not yet fix installed was checked for size and free movement of the beam. Everything went trouble-free and faster than expected, so the boat could be brought back into the shed the very same day.

Now the final installations and adjustments are worked flat out to finish the boat in time. Sea trials are scheduled for April before the boat will leave to Newport, Rhode Island with a stop-over in Brest, France.

Yachts made by Knierim – as individual as their owners

Knierim is building individual yachts – high-tech racers in carbon fiber as well as long range cruisers in GRP or wood. Knierim's new build range is not limited to prestigious sailing yachts; elegant power boats like the recently launched Knierim 36 Runabout are also manufactured at Knierim's plant at the Kiel Canal.

During the past 10 years Knierim became well-known for its high quality boatbuilding standard using its own milling machines to produce highly accurate moulds. Among the most recent projects were VARUNA, a 51' Ker designed offshore racer built in 2012. One year later a 65' IRC racer designed by Botin Partners followed. Both are built with carbon prepregs for ultimate strength and weight saving. The interiors are completely customized.

The most recently finished project is a 60' deck saloon cruiser built in GRP. The owner used his wealth of experience to create this sloop rigged yacht to perfectly meet his requirements.

We are looking forward to welcome you at our yard to tell you more about our custom-build yachts, from a highly precise mould to a beautifully finished ready-to-go boat.
